On my trial account, I had a pet wolf named Tundra that was level 19. Hunter pets were really cool, because they leveled and could get new abilities. Do Warlock pets level, too?

They don't level neccessarily. You get a knew one every 10 levels and they get upgrades to their spells but the cool thing is, they each have a unique use.
The first one, an Imp, is great for damage and is free to summon. Free meaning we Warlocks don't need things called "soul shards" for them. All other pets need a shard to summon and the shards are only gotten by using a certain spell as an xp yielding mob dies. So no shards = no summon except for Imps.
The second pet we get, at level 10, is a Voidwalker or VW which has a taunt and high hp which means, of course, he's great for tanking mobs but his damage is low. The new Succubus I got, named Aezva (ooh la la), has great damage output but no taunting ability so you have to let her hold aggro with the damage.
This is the case as well with the rest of the pets. Which makes for a very interesting process of leveling.
