Hahaha... I wonder if our poor Rangers will actually put up a respectable fight now!

Re: Today's Update 1/6/05
LMBO, I love this one:
-----
NPC’s
NPCs that have been slain mercilessly and repeatedly with very little effort may get stronger and smarter. Pay attention! New threats in Tunaria, Odus and Rathe Mountains will require quick wits and an alert presence.
------
Everyone on the Sony forum immediately thought STABLE BOY! I bet he runs (with sow) to the nearest pile of guards!

Re: Things are about to get interesting...
And the following post under "In Development" !!!
Cazic Thule and his minions have been watching adventurers trying to invade and plunder his realm. While Cazic has thus far congratulated his guardians for keeping the adventurers away, he has grown bored of counting the cracks in the walls surrounding his chamber and has decided to change around his trials a bit to give the heartiest of travelers another chance to face, and be slain by the god of fear himself.
Kithgrin is the only being on Norrath besides Cazic’s minions that have seen the trials in action and has given us a brief report of what we can look forward to:
The first trial, while it looks very similar, will not be so easy to pass. If Cazic senses any foul play, you will be severely set back.
The protectors of Qual Tin are a bit more vigilant and it will take quick wits to get through his maze. He should be a bit more willing to accept defeat if it is inevitable and allow adventurers to access the next trial if they deserve to do so.
While Cazic is getting a bit bold with this formal invitation, he is not daft. He has summoned some of his strongest minions close to him. If you allow fear to cloud your sight in this test, you will be incredibly outnumbered and overpowered.
The multitude of souls that have succumbed to their fears in his realm have increased Cazic's might. He has been heard to proclaim that he is the most powerful and formidable being in all of Norrath.
I, Kithgrin, have improved my teleportation and travel skills, so you should see me more often than before.
Players will be able to reallocate their Training Points and Mastery Points at certain points in their characters’ lives by performing services and completing quests.
The Resurrection Timer will persist through its proper time period, even if a player logs out or disconnects from the server.

Re: Things are about to get interesting...
WHAT?!?! That was the main reason why I started my ranger over. I put too many TP's into useless stats! ARGG! I could have been at like level 40ish.
Oh well, I like the blade path better.

Re: Things are about to get interesting...
So looks like there's growing unrest on the main boards as a sneakier side of this update becomes more clear. Apparently in certain places, after mobs are killed repeatedly, they spawn an enraged version of the mob which is several levels higher. In the case of the Qeynos Prison apparently the gate gaurds (typically con 16ish I think?) are spawning an enraged version that is 20+. So thats a pretty significant level increase.
Besides the obvious benefit of making grinding more interesting it seems that this will screw things up somewhat for AFKers. Of course, given time I'm sure the resourceful ones will find others ways... :-)
I'm guessing this isn't a Tunaria wide phenomenon since I've been killing in a single spot pretty much all weekend and never spawned an enraged gnoll.

I had to laugh last night when I found a level 30 Mage at the spiritmaster in Highpass. The mage was constantly trying to cast something like it was macroed. I'm not sure if this will stop afk groups though. Nice effort by the devs.
