Dearme is Saved, All of Rivervale Rejoices!

Dearme, the Friendly Druid of Rivervale, has been saved. Through a great effort on the part of her guild the mystery was solved and an evil deed undone.

Fellow Halflings Seenry and Heeggin provided clues that lead to a trader in Freeport by the name of Buylosellhi who, after requiring a number of items in payment, provided the name of the man responsible for Dearme’s loss.

The Human Necromancer Draexien was found at the Inn on the trade road West of Freeport. Facing the full might and wrath of the combined forces of the VC he apparently felt that discretion was the better part of valor and quickly coughed up the information demanded. Apparently he had used a magic crystal to steal her soul for a Dark Elf Necromancer. Not wanting to delay the rescue of Dearme the VC left Draexien to face the consequences of his crime at a later date.

Berkina and Venome were the first to Neriak to find the Necromancer Malill who was hiding behind his quild house in terror. Interrogation was difficult until the arrival of Davlannan, Profkaboom and Nastia who quickly changed his mind about cooperating. Malill demanded a special soul in exchange for Dearme’s. Davlannan escorted the fiend to the Dueler’s Crest where the VC dispatched a Maundering Soul for him.

Upon securing the Crystal with Dearme’s soul in it the VC quickly surrounded the villain who realized that he was no longer within the protection of the guards of Neriak. However, before Davlannan could challenge him to a duel he met a just and fitting end. A second Maundering Soul spawned in their midst and promptly struck Malill dead with a massive lightning bolt to the delight of the VC watching. Rumor has it that Malill did not respawn at his spiritmaster and so it may be that his gods decided his time was over.

Returning to Rivervale the VC was instructed by the local Clerics that the only way to possibly restore Dearme was to place the gem on her comatose body and then kill her so that the spiritmaster could attempt to restore her again. Davlannan, the fearless leader of the VC, took this grave task upon himself knowing full well that it might fail and that Dearme would be lost forever to his blade. Fortunately the spiritmaster’s spell was successful and Dearme was restored. The ordeal was not with out it consequences however as the evil of being imprisoned in the crystal weakened the little Druid and severed her ties with nature that were the source of her powers.

Dearme has promised her fellow guild members to study hard and quickly return to duty as one of their valued healers. It is certain that she shall have help from her friends as she heals.

Thanks to Brell, Tunare, or whatever god is the god of the Halflings for restoring Dearme to us. She is one of the most helpful and friendly members of the guild, and a huge empty hole would have formed if she were not restored.

It is good to have you back, Dearme!! emoticon

Davlannans' sole regret is not arriving sooner....then maybe Dearmes' energy loss would not have been so drastic.

It is still great to have you back.

Thank you all, I am happy to be back.

I am sure that this ordeal will make me wiser and I will be a better Druid and Healer in the long run because of it.

Dearme, your Friendly (Level 1?) Druid.

Djardjar is sorry that he missed the culmination of Dearme's storyline.

I was at least able to assist Danadek and Kazzy in obtaining the necessary items from Thedruk. Then I offered to run a new VC member to Freeport in hopes that they could participate in the rest of the events. Immediately upon reaching the coachman at FP, I got my third BSOD of the night.

I'm overjoyed to hear that Dearme is back amongst her family and friends, working to regain her strength and stature. I'm sure she will soon be even more powerful than she ever was.

(I hope you were able to hold onto your equipment, at least.)

Oh yes, you could not part me from my wonderful Stick and Glowing Shield emoticon

In fact I like them so much that I will not be changing my path when I get back to 20 to get the Scimitar. The Enkindle spell is of great use (4 ticks at about 74 each, + FR debuff) and I will go the same route again for that extra damage ability. I think that will be of much greater use than the small group tick heal that would comes with the Scimitar.

/curtsy to Djardjar for those two wonderful items.

Dearme, your Friendly (I LOVE my stick) Druid.

Oh my goodness! I find that totally flabbergasting! I was convinced that Dearme was starting over from level 1 primarily just to go health path to get that scimitar. I do remember you often expressing desire to have one.

Well, I am surprised and pleased to hear this new revelation. I'm sure you'll be dishing out the pain at the front lines again soon.

I still can't decide whether I like my stick (thanks Dav!) or scimitar more. So much so that I often switch back and forth between them in mid-fight.

Actually Djardjar my reason for restarting her was that at 20.999 she only had 99 wisdom which meant she could not buy any of her priest class masteries. No +12 PoT, no +1 DF mod... did not read the guild book on the CM's until it was too late.

All of this for ONE little training point!

Dearme, you Friendly (oops WIS of 99) Druid
