RAWR

Posted this on the Horde forum, but just in case some Alliance players find that forum a bit too smelly, I thought I'd post it here too emoticon

Its not really a site or an add-on, but the single most useful tool I've ever found for my game is Rawr. A little program that runs outside of WoW. I downloaded it, saved it to MyDocuments and have a shortcut to the .exe on my desktop.

You select your class from the first page, then you can select the option to load your character from the armory by giving your server and toon name. Play around a little with it, check it out. There is even a youtube "tour" to help you get started using it, if you like.

You can optimize your setup, your gear, your talents, your gems and enchants, your buffs, literally everything, even spell rotation. It will also build an upgrade list for gear for you. It assumes you are 80 and have 25 man raid buffs, but you can change everything. You can do "what if" scenarios by regemming something in Rawr and seeing the effect it will have, or trying on a new piece of badge gear, etc.

RAWR

I increased my dps by over 1k points during the first 3wks using rawr - mage and knew for sure which gear was going to help me and where it dropped. Then as I got new gear, I ran the optimizer again and found out how to best enc/gem my gear for the new setup. In my case, using combination of "lower" gear I had was much better for my dps than using the "best" gear I had. HUGE help.

I now have "saved" files for my BiS gear, my offspec gear, my current setup, my pvp setup, and 10man runs (since you don't get every buff in a 10man). I don't regem every time.. would be too expensive.

If you want to have a private conversation, I'd be happy to run you thru a personal tutorial on it. I've helped a couple others with it and they are ELATED!
