RAM will help EQ2. But the first question is exactly what video card do you have in there? If you do not know, run dxdiag from the command line and let it do it's thing. On one of the tabs, it will tell you what video card you have.

If you have an onboard video, you MAY be able to get enough performance by disabling just about everything. There are also the EQ2 tech support forums once we know what your video card is.

I was not referring to calling up SOE tech support. Instead, head over to the EQ2 forums and there is a specific tech support forum there. A quick search of your video card type may give back some helpful information.

On XP and most older versions of Windows you got the DOS prompt by going Start > Accessories > Command Prompt

(then just type whatever Ryv said where it says C:\ )

Not sure about Vista but on XP its in the same place where you find Notepad, Wordpad, Paint, Calculator, and the folders for Entertainment, Accessibility, System [sign in to see URL] it might be wherever those are in Vista?

I think it's the same place on Vista, but I'm not at home so I cannot validate it. On XP, it was right off the first start menu also, but they removed that in Vista.
