Tradeskill
OK I was on yesterday for a little while after work. I did a few quests, then I thought I would take up a tradeskill this way I don't out lvl for the quest to go to fp. Well I have no clue how the heck I start a tradeskill. I found the area that I work on it, but no clue how to start.

Re: Tradeskill
Start by going through newbie zones and harvesting as many different items as you can find.
The major four types are roots, ores, wood and herbs.
Now, head into the tradeskill instance that you joined. There should be at least 3 NPCs in there. One of them will give you a quest. If you haven't accepted the quest already, it might be rather hard for you to finish it. This quest will prevent you from obtaining level 10. The other two NPCs I'm aware of will either allow you to buy items from other players or you can buy some basic ingredients for tradeskills.
The NPC that sells tradeskill ingredients also sells a few scrolls you can scribe. Start with the lowest level one and scribe it. That will give you a new set of items you can craft. Walk to each piece of equipment and double click on it. This will show you want you can make and if you right click on it, you'll see what it required. All skills require 3-4 items; a fuel, a harvested item and some of component that you might be able to buy.
The higher level items are created from lower level ones. For me to scribe a scroll, I have to go to 3 different stations. The Alchemy station to create two items in order to get the ink I need. The Woodworking station to create a quill. And finally the Scribing station so I can make the paper and then finally the scroll using everything I just made.
Just about everything is similar. Bags require you to go to the forge to create tin pieces and use those to make buckles. Then back to the tailoring station so you can create cloth and then turn everything into a bag. I think that is all, I still haven't made those.

Re: Tradeskill
What item did they ask you to collect? You may have a quest for tier 1 or tier 2 ingredients. We should be able to figure it out based on the name of what you need.
If it is a tier 2 quest, you'll have to go through the newbie areas and raise your harvesting skills to around 40. At that point, you can harvent tier 2 items from Antonica/Commonlands.
If it is a tier 1 quest, you can get all of the items from the newbie zones.

Re: Tradeskill
Ok thanks to ryver I have reached lvl 6 in tradeskills. Tradeskills in EQ 2 is crazy with all the things you need. I must have spent 20 silver or more.
Also ryver I don't need those spells I was able to make them, but thanks anyway.

Re: Tradeskill
Cool. I'm glad to hear it. Now, if you make several more of those spells, you can put them up for sale for at least a few silver each.

Re: Tradeskill
Thats was something else I needed to find out. I'll have to check the eq 2 site to see how I open a store, so I can put stuff up to sell.
