I have a level 8 Kerra future Shaman by the name of Prouwler on the PermaFrost server. Wanted a combination caster/fighter and from the limited info I could find that looked to be a good combo.

The servers didn't go down for maintaince (?) this morning, I would have created my priest spells already. I think I have 4 of each that I can make at artisan level 5.

You have to craft spells???

I might pick up trade skills, looks like you might have to in this game to make some money.

Some bags would be good. Have a couple 4 slotters from the Isle, which strangely enough is the only place I have had any luck with loot! Should have stayed there longer and farmed a small starting stash LOL.

All of your spells are given to you, at a basic level. Sages can craft higher versions so they function better.

If you mouse over a spell, it probably says Appr I or Apprentice I. There are three levels (Apprentice, Adept and Master) and three levels within each (I-III). I can craft some Apprentice III spells already and I'll have the rest ready soon. Sages cannot make skill increases for Scouts or fighters.

Guys I don't know if I'm going to be able to play much longer. The lag in town is really starting to get me me. I'm not a pc gamer to start with and this is really getting me mad.

If you can, give us a chance to get out of town and check out the lag then.

Yes, we do have to go back into the town, but you might enjoy it out in the world.

Just a thought.

It is possible that your lag is caused by the server due to the current low level population, but just in case, this might help you.

I have to agree. In the time it took me to get out of town last night I was sick to my stomach from the screen jumps.

That and the constant crashing. In 20 minutes of trying to play last night I was disconnected from the server once and then the server just plain crashed. Will probably be dead when (if) I log back on as I was just starting a fight with an orange rat when it crashed.

Went back to playing WoW for the 20 minutes I had left to play.

Outside of town there pretty much is no lag. But in town to have to sit there for 5 mins. just to move one inch drives me crazy to no end. I'm going to wait and see if it gets better.

Re: Thoughts on EQ2 so far

I must just be lucky so far then. I haven't had a server crash while I was playing that I can remember, but I have had to wait before I can play while they restart.

As for lag in the cities, it hasn't been that bad for me. Again, I may just be lucky so far.

I did notice this morning that if you hit F9 and go into 1st person mode, you FPS may go up dramatically. On my system, which is pretty low right now, I went from 10FPS to 30 FPS just by hitting F9.

I ran that test using Fraps and a new character on the Isle since our server is currently down. Once I can get back in, I'll try it on Ryv and see how it goes.

Another thing to try is lowering your display quality and see if your FPS goes up and lag goes down. Lag is caused by 1 of 2 things: a) low FPS, b) bad transfer time on packets to/from the server. You can help out a), but not b).

Re: Thoughts on EQ2 so far

Finin and I grouped for about 1-2 hours earlier today and ran a few quests in The Down Below.

I had a great time hanging out you again and I hope you stick it out so these server issues go away. Sorry about bailing on your last link-death. The wife had come home and I needed to spend time with her so I can play tonight.

Once the server came back up around 1PM, I was on it until after 3 with no issues.

Ignore my previous post about playing in 1st person mode. When playing Ryv in town, if I went into 1st person mode, my FPS would drop down to under 10. In 3rd person mode, it would run around 20 usually and 30 out of town.
